    It was a lucky day at Wethersfield Country Club in Connecticut on June 12th for the annual Wire & Cable Manufacturers’ Alliance (WCMA) Bob Mansfield Memorial Golf Outing. The 117 golfers enjoyed a beautiful sunny day on the prestigious course, camaraderie and industry networking. The annual charity raffle and silent auction raised $4,000 for cancer research, surpassing last year’s donation. The finale came as WCMA member, Ken Strandberg of T & T Marketing, Inc. made a 170 yard hole-in-one at hole #5, winning the top prize of $15,000 cash through the National Hole-In-One Association’s Certificate Program.

Andries Kout’s family started importing screws from the United States lust after the Second World War. It was in that business that he first hand packed and sorted screws using a simple balance scale, an example of which stilt sits on the window ledge of his office. Eventually the family company was to employ 40 people simply to pack and sort screws. I learnt the importance of sorting screws then,’ recalls Andries Kout. “When we received the kegs you would find all the different sizes that had been caught in the heat treatment mesh or the plating barrel and contaminated the next batch.’ You could say that everything you see here represents a child’s frustration,’ says Weighpack InternationaL President, Andries P.
