| Wire and Tube have presented themselves together in Düsseldorf for the twelfth time now.
The next date for Wire 2010 and Tube 2010 is confirmed: The two leading international trade fairs, Wire, International Wire and Cable Trade Fair, and Tube, International Tube Trade Fair, will show the best their respective industries have to offer from 12 to 16 April 2010. The combined innovative power of these growth industries will again be showcased in the halls of the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre in 2010. However the successful trade fair duo will not be held in conjunction with Metav in 2010.

| “With the fastener industry preparing for less settled times, Fastener Fair Coventry provided new opportunities for a profitable future,” says Organiser.
The 12th Fastener Fair for the UK and Ireland took place in Coventry on 11 and 12 June, with 140 exhibitors taking up more space than ever before. Just over 1000 visitors attended from all over the UK and Ireland, 75% of whom had purchasing responsibility for their companies.
“Almost exactly the same number of visitors came as two years ago,” says Ramsdale. “In fact, there were slightly more, which is a remarkable achievement for a mature event that’s been running since 1995. It shows that Fastener Fair Coventry is the industry’s key exhibition, and that with the help of our exhibitors we’ve managed to keep things fresh, lively and compelling for visitors.”

| The Wire Association International (WAI), Inc., with the support of its Ohio Valley Chapter and more than 100 volunteers, hosted an activity-rich event that included exhibits, technical and social programs as part of Wire Expo 2008 and its 78th Annual Convention that concluded last week at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA.
Participation figures totaled 1957 and exhibition space was filled by 308 exhibiting companies. The event attracted participants from 38 states offering drive-in traffic from the industry workers in the surrounding regions of Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York, Indiana, and Michigan. |

| “Little sign of inflationary pressures abating,” says industry expert.
Fastener industry expert Phil Matten has delivered a hard-hitting analysis of the factors propelling the cost of all types of steel fasteners along the steepest inflationary track witnessed in decades. Matten, the editor of Fastener & Fixing magazine, told a packed forum at the recent Fastener Fair Coventry that he could see costs across the range of standard steel fasteners being 40% to 60% higher than 2007 levels within a matter of months.

This in-line drawing machine is capable to produce the complete range of finish wire diameters, for the three different DLH 8-models, from 0.16 to 1.00 (1.20) mm [16.5–34 AWG], from only 3 inlet wire diameters 1.6, 2.0 and 2.5 mm [10, 12, 14 AWG], resulting in cost reductions for sourcing and the inventory of raw materials.
