| Net sales continue to grow. Operating result higher, but not quite in line with the development in net sales. Order backlog increases by 78 percent.
S c h l i e r e n, 30 August 2007. The Schlatter Group (SWX Swiss Exchange: STRN) continued to build on its market success in the first half of 2007, increasing net sales by 26.6 percent to CHF 121.9 million. For the first six months of the year, the Group reported an EBIT of CHF 5.4 million and profit for the period of CHF 3.0 million. The order backlog rose by 78 percent to CHF 167.1 million compared to the same period of last year.
Demand in the Group's core markets held up well in the first six months of 2007, enabling the Schlatter Group to increase net sales by 26.6 percent to CHF 121.9 (1st half of 2006: CHF 96.3 million). |

The specialty chemicals company Altana AG substantially increased sales and earnings in the first six months of 2007 compared to the previous year. Sales increased by 7%, rising from €659.0 million to €705.7 million. Adjusted for negative exchange rate effects of 3% as well as slightly positive acquisition effects, the operating sales growth rate was 9%. The growth in sales was particularly strong in Europe (+ 10%) and Asia (+ 8%). Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) grew by 22% from €103.1 million to €125.2 million, based on double-digit earnings increases in all divisions. |

| Prysmian Cables & Systems, a worldwide leading player in the cable industry, has signed a Term Sheet with Indian Nicco Corporation to become the majority shareholder of a new joint venture company that will encompass all Nicco Corporation's cable activities.
The Board of Directors of Prysmian approved in principle the entrance into the Term Sheet.
The deal, subject to the finalization of a definitive agreement and further approval/consent of Nicco's corporate debt lenders and relevant local authorities, is expected to close during the first half of 2008.
