| It was reported in late 2011 that Jindal Steel & Power Limited (JSPL) commissioned an SMS Concast continuous billet caster in Raigarh, India. Minimal preparation times are a key feature of the plant. Just a month after the first billet was cast, the plant is operating at full production capacity. The plant has six casting strands, meaning the production capacity has been increased by 1 million tpy. JSPL is planning to increase capacity at its Raigarh site to 7 million tpy.
